🗺️ The Route

The drive from Montego Bay to Negril follows the stunning north coast on the A1 highway. From Sangster Airport, head west through Reading, along the coast through Hopewell and Lucea, then south to Negril. The road is well-maintained and mostly two lanes with beautiful ocean views.

🏖️ Must-Stop Attractions

• Seven Mile Beach — One of the world's most beautiful beaches. Crystal clear water, white sand, beach bars and restaurants.
• Rick's Cafe — Famous cliff diving spot and the best sunset in Jamaica. Arrive before 5 PM to get a good spot.
• Negril Lighthouse — Jamaica's westernmost point with panoramic views. Great photo opportunity.
• Kool Runnings Water Park — Fun for families. Located just before you enter Negril.
• Half Moon Beach — Quieter alternative to Seven Mile Beach. More secluded and natural.

🍽️ Where to Eat

• Scotchies Jerk Centre (on the way) — Authentic Jamaican jerk chicken and pork. A must-stop.
• Pushcart Restaurant — Upscale Jamaican cuisine right on the beach.
• 3 Dives Jerk — Local favourite on the cliffs. Incredible views with your meal.

💡 Tips for This Drive

• Leave early to beat the midday heat and traffic
• Bring a swimsuit — you'll want to stop at the beach
• Fill up on gas in Montego Bay before leaving
• The road through Lucea can be slow due to a narrow stretch — be patient
• If returning after dark, drive carefully as some sections have no street lights
